Simona Griffith is a Foreign Affairs Officer at the Office of Development Finance (ODF) at the U.S. Department of State. She focuses on development finance issues in Africa and Europe. Simona joined ODF in February, 2018 and has since completed short term rotations at the Front Office of the Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs and the Freedom of Information Act Surge team.

Prior to starting her public service career, Simona completed internships at the Pew Research Center and the German Marshall Fund & spent five years as an owner of a T-shirt store on the boardwalk of Ocean City, MD.

Simona has a dual B.A. in English and Political Science from Salisbury University and a Master in Public Policy with focus on International Economic and Security Policy from the University of Maryland, College Park. In addition to being a Robertson Foundation for Government Fellow, she is a Presidential Management Fellowship Finalist (2019) and a Title VIII Fellow. Simona is also a member of the Eurasia Foundation's Young Professionals Network and the Jamestown Foundation's Young Professionals Program for the 2019-2020 editions.

In her spare time, Simona enjoys traveling, running, reading Russian literature and the New Yorker, watching foreign cinema, visiting house museums, avoiding house chores, and wasting time on the internet. Simona is originally from Lithuania and speaks Lithuanian and Russian languages.
