Born in Summit, New Jersey Cameron lived there for three years before moving and starting a trend of not having lived in the same place for more than 5 years. Cameron graduated from Stonehill College with a BS in Chemistry with a minor in Physics. He then joined the Peace Corps and served in South Africa for three years combatting the HIV/AIDS epidemic. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer (PCV) in a small village near the Zimbabwe border for the first two years and then as a Peace Corps Volunteer Leader in the city of Polokwane guiding 32 PCVs through their first year of service.

Cameron was the co-leader of Fletcher’s International Development Group and the Global Health Group, two student led organizations on campus. Cameron continued to build his regional understanding of Southern and Eastern Africa through his capstone project that analyzed Chinese investment in both regions.
