International Security and Economic Policy

Phoebe DeVos-Cole graduated from Chapman University with a degree in Political Science prior to pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Maryland. During undergrad, Phoebe was especially interested in U.S. foreign policy and international security. She interned at Los Alamos National Laboratory, researching nuclear policy and nonproliferation. At LANL, Phoebe participated in the NSSC-LANL Keepin Nonproliferation Summer School, which piqued her interest in nuclear policy and nonproliferation and the intersection of technology and policy.

During her undergraduate career, Phoebe studied abroad in Seville, Spain, as a recipient of the Gilman Scholarship. She also participated in an exchange program in Washington, DC, where she studied U.S. foreign policy and interned with the U.S. Department of State. Phoebe also interned with the Center for Law and Military Policy, where she researched issues pertaining to the U.S. military and its service members and veterans. In her career, Phoebe hopes to work on U.S. defense policy and national security.
