Public Administration & International Relations
Katherine Maxwell is pursuing a Master of Public Administration and a Master of Arts in International Relations at Syracuse University.
Katherine graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, she interned for UN Women USA’s Los Angeles chapter, studied international organizations in New York City, and earned minors in Gender Studies and German. After graduating, she taught English with a program managed by Fulbright Austria. She later conducted policy research on gender issues for the European Institute for Gender Equality, an EU agency in Lithuania. After repatriating, she supported several federally funded research projects on health disparities among sexual and gender minorities at the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
While at Syracuse, Katherine has taken courses in Data Analytics for Public Policy and Diplomacy, Governance, and International Organizations. She also interned with the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command's Office of Women, Peace, and Security. She is currently interning with the Government Accountability Office while taking courses at Syracuse's Global Security and Development Program in Washington, DC.
After graduating, Katherine plans to build a career focused on advancing gender equity by promoting increasing international cooperation and policy reform in the U.S. and beyond.
