Nicole Franiok is from Brick, New Jersey, and received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in pre-law from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pennsylvania. During her senior thesis research, Nicole examined the passage of the U.S.A. P.A.T.R.I.O.T. Act and developed an interest in the intersection of finance and national security.
After completing her degree, Nicole served as an intern in The Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars' Development Office. In this role, Nicole supported the inquiry into actionable foreign polity by researching grant and funding opportunities for the center's thirteen regional studies programs.
At the University of Maryland, she will focus on international security and economic policy.
