International Security and Economic Policy

Holly became interested in public policy and international affairs when she attended the National Student Leadership Conference in Washington, DC as a high school student.

She pursued this interest by studying Psychology and Middle East and Islamic Studies in college, where she took two Arabic courses and studied abroad in Morocco and Ireland. In Morocco, she improved her colloquial Arabic skills and studied Islamic politics, while in Ireland she studied terrorism and the Irish criminal justice system. Holly also had the opportunity to conduct and present research in her field and learned about many of the societal challenges she hopes to address in her future career in the federal government. In graduate school, Holly worked with the Center for International and Security Studies at Maryland (CISSM) on various projects.
