Brett Northfield is a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy candidate at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where he focuses on international security studies and conflict resolution. Recently, Brett served as an intern at the State Department’s Office of European Security and Political Affairs, where he worked on U.S. security policy toward the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). He is a strategic communications associate at CDA Collaborative Learning Projects, a peacebuilding, humanitarian, and development NGO in Cambridge.

Prior to graduate school, Brett worked at USAID’s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance, where he worked closely with disaster assistance professionals to tell the stories of complex international humanitarian responses. At Meridian International Center, Brett administered the International Visitor Leadership Program, the State Department’s flagship professional exchange program. Brett holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Oregon and is originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon.
