Lalitha was born in Belgaum, India, and she moved to Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, when she was three months old. She holds a BA from American University’s School of International Service in International Studies with a focus in Peace, Global Security, and Conflict Resolution. After graduation, Lalitha worked for a voter communications firm during the 2016 presidential election. She then went on to serve as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant, living in Perlis, Malaysia for one year, where she taught English at local secondary school.
Lalitha is currently a student at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where she is studying security studies, conflict resolution, and international communication. This past summer, she interned in the Department of State’s U.S. Mission to ASEAN in Jakarta, Indonesia. At Fletcher, Lalitha is continuing to build her regional understanding of Southeast Asia through her capstone project that analyzes counterterrorism and countering violent extremism efforts in the region.
