Prior to joining UCSD GPS, Lily was a program associate at the Latin America Working Group in Washington, D.C. In this role, she engaged with activists, nongovernmental and intergovernmental organizations, and U.S. and foreign government agencies and officials to advocate for human rights considerations in U.S. foreign policy towards Latin America. Specifically, her work focused on Mexico and the Northern Triangle of Central America. She earned a bachelor's degree with highest honors in International Relations & Global Studies and Latin American Studies as well as a Global Business Certificate from the University of Texas at Austin. While a student, she interned at the Latin America Working Group, the Gerson Lehrman Group, the office of Congressman Lloyd Doggett, and the World Affairs Council of Houston.
